Woman with child
Why this photo? Let me give you some context for this nativity scene, or woman and child. Everyone can interpret it as they wish. It all started with a long blue dress that my sister Ariane had bought to wear underwater. I took a photo of it one day. The dress had potential, and I was working on other ideas. Then, the desire to explore the theme of woman and child took hold for a few years and finally materialized during the French Underwater Photography Championship. While searching for fluidity and softness, I thought back to this opalescent blue dress, perfectly suited to the image I had in mind. During the shoot, a magical moment occurred: Ariane struck a pose, the fabrics naturally fell into place, and I captured that instant. Despite a bad cold and bouts of coughing, she showed great courage. This image, born from a suspended moment, received the jury's special prize for atmosphere.
